I'm coming to Pajan. Tokyo. The date is somewhat in flux, but it is relatively soon and it is imminent. The trip will be all work, which sucks, but even given that, the flavor of the culture can't be not experienced and I'm really looking forward to it. My point of reference, my only kind of even firsthand related idea of Pajan, is you guys and what you talk about. So that's cool. You're kind of my compass, culture-wise.
Pat, you lucky bastard. I didn't travel much when I was at the Big Software Co, but my week in the Tokyo area was hands-down my favorite trip for so many reasons. The two main ones ought to appeal to you: the food and the people. Specifically the work-a-day-shirt-sleeved guys (and they're all guys) that hang out at small little neighborhood cafe/bars and drink heavily on a nightly basis make for excellent company... I'd suggest trying a different spot each night to maximize your cultural influence and immersion.
As for Pat Rick: would it kill you to throw a bike related post up, or any post, here every now and then?

Pat - if you have time, let's meet. Wherever. Whenever.
ReplyDeleteJohn - no it won't kill me. Expect something soon. Just for you.
